3. Pay Scale: Level-7 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. Group ‘B’ Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
4. Educational: (i) Bachelor’s Degree in Law of a recognized University or institute, (ii) Hindi as an elective or compulsory subject at the Senior Secondary (12th) level from a recognized Board or Institute; (iii) English as a compulsory subject at Senior Secondary (12th) level from a recognized Board or Institute; And (iv) (a) Translation in Hindi of deeds, agreement, Bills, Acts, Rules, Regulations and Orders, in the Central Government or State Government or Union Territory Administration or Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous or Statutory Bodies or Recognized Institutes or Universities for a period of three years; or (b) Editing and translation in Hindi of High Court or Supreme Court judgments for three years; or (c) Post Graduate Diploma in translation from an Institute recognized by the Central Government or State Government. NOTE-: The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. DESIRABLE: Master Degree in Law from a recognised University or Institute. DUTIES: (i) Translation of selected judgments of Supreme Court of India and various High Courts from English to Hindi. (ii) Preparation of Head-Notes of translated judgments. (iii) Preparation of index and digests. (iv) Checking of citations from Indian and Foreign Law Reports. (v) Proof reading and scrutiny of Patrikas. (vi) To report to the Assistant Editor and the Editor/Branch Officer of the Unit regarding translating/editing task. (vii) Any other work related to the Patrikas with the consultation of Editor/Chief Editor or higher Officers of the Department. HQ: New Delhi.

Application Fee: Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty five) only either by remitting the money in any branch of the SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of the SBI or by using visa/master credit/debit card. (b) No fee for SC/ST/PH/Women candidates of any community. No "fee exemption" is available to Gen/OBC/EWS male candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee. (c) Applications without the prescribed fee would not be considered and summarily rejected.
